We drove this unremarkable lane from north to south. Turning south off of Blake's Lane, this BOAT heads almost due south in a dead straight line for a kilometre. Its gravel surface and use as a farm track means that it is as effortless to drive as a country road would be. Passing places are even provided!
The lane follows a field boundary for around a kilometre until it reaches a small copse on it's eastern side, at which point it jinks slightly south west and then resumes it's southerly course. At the copse, the surface further improves to a concrete surface (pictured) which continues until it enters Hook Wood. As such, the chances of getting stuck or causing damage are virtually zero.
Indeed, on reaching Hook Wood the only section of the lane worthy of note begins. The lane turns 90 degrees to the west and the surface changes back to gravel. It descends a hill into a slight depression in the land, which subsequently crosses, heads back up hill and then finishes all too early where it joins Fullers Farm Lane which then takes you south east to Shere Road.
Hatchlands Park, a National Trust property containing Admiral Boscawen's palatial mansion, lies just to the north of the northern end of the lane, with Effingham Forest at it's southern tip.
