What to say about Lowlands Lane? It is a UCR, and pretty much like every single other UCR in this area, it is very easy going and relatively unremarkable! That's not to say there is anything wrong with it at all, but the lanes in this area seem to be variations on a common theme of nice, wide, unrutted tracks that pass through woodland. Therefore, on an unrutted earthen surface that is firm even when the weather has been particularly wet, and with no overgrowth to worry about, it poses no threat either to the paintwork or the vehicle and is an easy, realaxing drive. Just what we were looking for!
Starting at its southern end near Brick Kiln Farm, the lane heads due east for a short distance before gradually turning to the north at a copse named Sutton Park. The woodland continues for around 200m and briefly releases its grip before the lane plunges back into the trees on entering Shutt's Copse. The lane finishes at Lowlands Farm on Brockwood Bottom, a country road just shy of the A272 west of West Meon Hut. Pleasant, easy and over too quickly, it scores a 3.
