This dead end, short lane is easy going but overgrown in parts, with a very lightly rutted mud surface that could become a problem after heavy rain. However, as it's a dead end, and since there is extremely limited room to turn your vehicle around once at the top, don't bother with it.
Therefore it's not worth taking time on unless you have a very good reason to go and check out Wisley Airfield (pictured right), and even then it'd be easier to walk it! Wisley Airfield was the old Vicker's Aircraft Company flight testing airfield. All that remains is the substantial runway, apron, and taxiways, as almost all the buildings were demolished around 1980. Those with any background in flying will already know (those that don't, won't care!) that the Ockham VOR/DME station is situated on the south-east corner of the disused airfield. Amongst others, the legendary Vickers VC10 underwent a portion of it's flight testing programme from here.
NB: The Hautboy Inn in Ockham, an awesome building architecturally, has gone out of business at the time of writing. Instead, visit the Black Swan.
