This dead-end greenlane is initially easy going on a compacted gravel and then grassy surface, though with regards to encroaching undergrowth, it's a little tight in places. However (when driving from the western end) despite the signing at the 'cross-roads' depicting that the byway continues in three directions (to the west, east, and to the south), this is not the case. To the right lies a RUPP (and therefore is technically off-limits to road vehicles), ahead is a RUPP that changes to a bridleway metres from its end, and that leaves the only option of retreating the way you came. Beleive me when I tell you that your intrepid explorers had almost no fun trying to turn round a 110 in the space available either.

Since this unattractive lane only runs between houses and an industrial estate on the outskirts of Andover anyway, it has little to speak in its favour and really is best avoided.

What is a good idea, however, is to drop by to The Hare And Hounds pub, just up the road in Charlton Down. It's recently been refurbished and does great beers and better food. Well worth a visit.
