This UCR is a dead end, as no access is allowed to the water treatment plant at Pikes Bridge from either end. Go check out the Lavender Line steam railway, which runs nearby, or walk the short stretch of the former Wealden Line trackbed that runs north from Barcombe Mills, and take lunch or go boating at the exceptional Anchor Inn (at TQ442610). Also, there are a few pillboxes in the area, and the course of a Roman road runs north-south just east of the lane directly under the bridge. Avoid the lane and enjoy the area on foot instead!
