This UCR is an extremely easy going track with a prepared gravel surface suitable for any vehicle. It is not especially long, and in unremarkable in every way except for the view when starting downhill from hill 122 (pictured right). The hamlet of Abbotstone, and Abbotstone Farm lies at the southern end, take care due to livestock and children. Abbotstone used to be a medieval settlement, the remains of which lie just to the south east of the end of this track. Very little, if anything, remains to be seen above ground.
We finished up for the day after driving this track, and headed for our 'compulsory post-offroading tipple' in 'The Globe On The Lake', Alresford: worth visiting for the view from the beer garden (pictured left)! It offers a decent selection of mainstream lagers/ciders. Whilst there, check out the plaque just outside the beer garden, detailing the crash of Boeing B17 'Lady Luck' (ironically, or maybe not, depending on your point of view!) of the 303BG, US 8th Air Force, to be found just outside The Globe's beer garden (by bridge over the weir). 'New Alresford', as it's shown on the OS map, is a wonderful country market town, crammed with great pubs and decent shops, and the excellent Watercress Line terminates here. Well worth a visit.
